Angela Dwamena-Aboagye, PhD is a distinguished lawyer, Christian theologian, licensed professional counselor, and advocate for women’s empowerment and child protection. With a career spanning several decades, she has played a pivotal role in advancing human rights, gender equality, and social justice in Ghana and beyond. She holds a law degree from the University of Ghana, an LL.M in women’s rights and public policy from Georgetown University Law Centre, and a PhD in Theology. As the Executive Director of The Ark Foundation, Ghana, Angela pioneered the country’s first domestic violence shelter and has dedicated her career to supporting survivors of abuse, trafficking, and gender-based violence. She also consults on anti-sexual harassment policies and corporate training. Recognized as one of Africa’s 100 Most Influential Women (2024) and among Ghana’s 40 Most Inspirational Female Leaders, she continues to impact society through her advocacy and leadership. Angela is married with four children and two grandchildren and actively fellowships with ICGC Liberty Temple in Accra Ghana
